I was wanting to get rid of some old collectibles I no longer needed and I came across the Works of Life Charity site, I was suspicious so I haven’t bothered to donate. I tried to call and got some voice recording and didn’t get a response. I figured I’d try to see what I could find and I came across a Works Of Life, With Causes – PossibleScam?? blog. The site lists his name and his lengthy criminal record however I wasn’t able to figure out how he got a hold of the information. Perhaps he donated to them or actually talked to them on the phone after leaving his phone number on the answering machine.
The sites in question are:
Works of Life Charity
Online Car Donation
Real Estate with Causes
Collectibles with Causes
Boats with Causes
Computers with Causes
Timeshare Donations
All of the web sites use the same phone number and are set with domain privacy registration. None of them offer anything more than that phone number and a contact form. None of them link to a specific church or organization, just to each other. The sites seem to be heavily optimized with SEO (Search Engine Optimization – so they rank high in search engines for certain keyword searches), while that is normal for web sites to do, the fact they repeat the links so often on every page multiple times to the point of trying to manipulate their ranking on Google and other search engines. The Works of Life Charity shows “© Copyright 1999-2009″, however it was registered in 2006 along with Collectibles with Causes.
I definately don’t plan to donate because the best thing to do if you are unsure of a scam is not to bother with it. However, I wanted to share this information so others don’t donate to something very suspicious.
You are talking about a charity or a person?
I looked it up too with nevada sec of state and the person they are talking about is not even with the Organization.
I followed an Ip address from a response I got from the blog and it goes to a womens revenge/ hate men site. [207.115.36.115]

Kinda bad to perpetuate this stuff and hurt people that are not doing anything but good, dontcha think? Actually itsreally, really wrong to do so. Hurts a lot of people in need and apparently not the guy they are even talking about. I was always taught that perpetuating gossip was wrong. Too many holes in what they are writing that simply dont check out. Statements like the police investigated but it was beyond the statute of limitations? police dont investigate in the first place if that is so. they have also published different versions of the same story with completely different sets of facts.
Doesnt seem to offer any proof but that these guys are doing what they are supposed to be doing anyway. Looks they are doing a lot of good.
Folloowed some other stuff and found some weirdos slathering about this Guy too. Apparently everybody is this Guy? Strange!
It actually looks like someone with a grudge is posting the stuff online. Bible verses being quoted on one? Christians that lack the faith to let God take care of things for them? It seems a bit strange. With all of the links you have provided and the lack of thought to the problems it will cause you almost seem like you are part of it?
The IP address you got from the blog doesn’t make sense that it would resolve to that romancescam forum, since the blog is hosted on blogspot.com which redirects to blogger.com which is owned by Google.
Every time I’ve called the phone number I’ve gotten the voice mail message. I assume they are using it as a filter and will only call back people that leave their phone number.
In my opinion the sites are just too shady looking to be considered safe to donate too.
i have been donation to collectible with causes for 3 years now. I have never had a problem and have actually found them to be very helpful with tax tips and education. Sounds like you have your facts wrong!!!!
