Smaller is a $20 app that compresses HTML, PHP, CSS and JS. However to me that is too much to pay for a simple app, no matter how nice it is. I have a few suggestions that are free, cheaper or do even more than Smaller.
- CodeKit – compiles LESS, Sass, Stylus, CoffeeScript, Jade, Slim, Compass and Haml files. Combines, minifies and error-checks JavaScript. It even optimizes jpeg and png images. For $25 it does a lot more than Smaller.
- Javascript Packer – Validate and compress JavaScript for $0.99
- Minimus – Free GUI frontend for Yahoo’s YUI Compressor that compresses JavaScript and CSS
- Delivery – Free tool to compress JavaScript and CSS
